The Association's 2008 conference will be held at Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club, on the South Coast NSW. This venue offers spectacular coastal views, and together with an exciting program we are looking forward to a wonderful time meeting with members as we learn how we can improve our business skills.

Stage 3 - TAFE Course 6449 - Statement of Attainment in Bed & Breakfast Tourism
2nd & 3rd Sept 2008
Stage 3 of a 3 part programme. For full qualification you will need to complete all 3 stages, however each stage is able to be taken independently.
This stage covers the following subjects:
Develop and Implement a Business Plan Interpret Financial Information
Prepare a business plan for you own business and improve your knowledge of accounting practices.

The first Outback NSW Tourism Industry Symposium will be held in Broken Hill NSW and is aimed specifically at Australian outback tourism and accommodation operators.

The Key note speaker is Craig Catchlove from the Northern Territory who will be speaking on the specific challenges of Australian Outback Tourism.

Stage 1 - TAFE Course 6449 - Statement of Attainment in Bed & Breakfast Tourism
11th & 12th March 2008
In conjunction with BBFNSW-ACT, TAFE NSW has developed an exciting new B&B Tourism course for 2008.
Training will be offered in three stages: Stage 1 - Marketing for the B&B/Farmstay Opertor Stage 2 - Planning and Safety for the B&B/Farmstay Operator Stage 3 - Business Planning for regional Tourism
For each stage, attendance at an introductory workshop is recommended. Thereafter, you will study and complete the assessment tasks at home in your own time. Study support is available by phone and email.
Each stage can be completed separately. However, to gain the full qualification all three stages are required, and a Safe Food Handling Certificate.
Stage 1 offers the following subjects:
Tourism Marketing Activities Develop and Update Tourism Industry Knowledge
You will develop a marketing plan for your own business and learn more about how the tourism industry works.

Stage 2 - TAFE Course 6449 - Statement of Attainment in Bed & Breakfast Tourism

Designed to 'stand alone', or combine with stages 1 and 3 to attain the full qualification.
This stage of the course includes the following subjects: Develop and Implement Operational Plans Establish and Maintain a Safe and Secure Worksplace Develop and Update Local Knowledge
Develop an operational plan and risk management strategies for your own business. Prepare a portfolio of local information for your guests.
