Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay NSW & ACT Inc. - Gift Vouchers
The accommodation gift vouchers previously issued by the Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay NSW & ACT association are now being phased out in preference of a new Australian national Accommodation Gift Voucher system available for Australia-wide redemption.
NSW & ACT accommodation gift vouchers can still be used, within 12 months of the date of issue.
OLD - NSW & ACT Gift Vouchers |
New - Australian Gift Vouchers |
The gift voucher system is administered by the Association as a service to the travelling public and our membership.
The recipient is advised that the gift voucher may be used at any participating member property and that enquiries and bookings should be made directly with the member. The recipient must advise the member that they will be using a gift voucher when they make the enquiry.
We hope that all our members will accept the Association's Gift Voucher, however the decision is entirely up to you. If you choose to accept the voucher, the process is this:
- Advise your guest that you will accept the voucher as part (or full) payment.
- Ask the guest for the gift voucher (you can do this in advance as a deposit or when they arrive).
- Once the guests have stayed, forward the Gift Voucher to BBFNSW-ACT for redemption. Post to:
BBFNSW-ACT Office Manager
PO BOX 4586
North Rocks NSW 2151
- You will receive the face value of the Gift Voucher LESS 10% PROCESSING FEE
Please enclose some form of "request for payment" with the Gift Voucher, quoting your ABN. If you provide your account details, the money is transferred directly to your bank account, otherwise payment is by cheque. We are currently streamlining this process, with the aim of making your payment within 7 days of receipt of the Gift Voucher.
A couple of points:
- You handle the booking like any other, with the Gift Voucher replacing payment for that portion of the total payable only.
- You ask for a deposit and provide details of your cancellation policy as you would for any other booking.
Vouchers were purchased in units of $50, with a minimum purchase of $100. If the booking costs, say, $150 and the Gift Voucher is for $200 no change is to be given. The balance of $50 may be taken in other goods or services you may normally provide (picnic hamper, evening meal, etc)
Sales of the state gift vouchers have now ceased (effective early December 2006) and the new Australian Gift Vouchers are now available from the directory website - just in time for last minute Christmas presents!
