New Gift Voucher System - November 2008

The new gift voucher system is a combined initiative of the Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay Association of NSW-ACT (BBFNSW-ACT) and Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay Queensland (BBFQ) and is administered by BBFNSW-ACT as a service to the travelling public and our membership. This new combined gift voucher replaces the NSW-ACT only voucher and offers the consumer a wider selection of accommodation choices on the Australian East Coast. The recipient is advised that the gift voucher may be used at any participating member property and that enquiries and bookings should be made directly with the member. The recipient must advise the member that they will be using a gift voucher when they make the enquiry. The online gift voucher order form provides for instant and secure credit card purchase.

Free Member Benefit - How To Redeem...

This is a cost free benefit of membership designed to bring you bookings you would not normally have acheived. Please quote as per normal on enquiry - there are no commissions or fees payable by members.

We hope that all our members will accept the new combined Gift Voucher, however the decision is entirely up to you. If you choose to accept the voucher, the process is this:

1. Advise your guest that you will accept the voucher as part (or full) payment.
2. Ask the guest for the gift voucher (you can do this in advance as a deposit or when they arrive).
3. Once the guests have stayed, forward the Gift Voucher to BBFNSW-ACT for redemption. Post to:

4. You will receive the full face value of the Gift Voucher - NO COMMISSIONS OR FEES!

Please enclose some form of "request for payment" with the Gift Voucher, quoting your ABN. If you provide your account details, the money is transferred directly to your bank account, otherwise payment is by cheque. We aim to make your payment within 7 days of receipt of the Gift Voucher.

A couple of points:

• You handle the booking like any other, with the Gift Voucher replacing payment for that portion of the total payable only.
• You ask for a deposit and provide details of your cancellation policy as you would for any other booking.

Vouchers were purchased in units of $50, with a minimum purchase of $100. If the booking costs, say, $150 and the Gift Voucher is for $200 no change is to be given. The balance of $50 may be taken in other goods or services you may normally provide (picnic hamper, evening meal, etc)

Guests are advised that the accommodation gift vouchers issued by the Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay Association of NSW & ACT Incorporated can be used, within 12 months of the date of issue, at participating member properties throughout Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

They are requested to let the accommodation owner know that they have a Qld, NSW & ACT voucher and wish to use it when making the initial booking enquiry.
